Steel provides an excellent transfer of heat and will not expand and contract like aluminum.  Through experience and capabilities exclusive to Sharples we are able to provide a laser-cut steel based die. Steel based dies have virtually no wear from re-knifing.  We can manufacture dies with mounting plates, aluminum buildups and backer plates.

Stainless Steel die bases available for clean room applications.  Sharples has resources and references available in our design department on the top industry die-cutting machines. 

No repairing or re-sharpening of blades like forge tooling.   Simply replace the CNC bent knife and you are up and running again.
