Automated bending provides diemakers the ability to generate consistent and flat cavities.  Steel rule can be notched, cut to the proper length with or without miters and mechanically bent.  Extra cavities can be ordered or reordered with just a file#.  At Sharples, we consistently calibrate and test all benders to ensure constant operation by specification.

For thermoforming dies, higher dies are more common to accommodate the clearance of a deep-formed part.  High spots occur more often as knife height increases but shaping rule with an automated bender can diminish the chance of high spots.  Sharples has multiple benders ranging up to 2 inches high and 6pt in thickness.  Our wide inventory of knife gives us the flexibility that thermoformers may require from job to job.  Because of this, we match the right knife to the material being cut and surface it is cutting on.
